Frequently asked questions

What is a VPN and how does it work?

A VPN (Virtual Private Network) creates an encrypted tunnel between your device and an intermediary server. Your traffic travels through that tunnel, so your ISP or anyone on the same network can't see the contents — and the destination website sees the server's IP instead of your real one.

Is using a VPN illegal in Thailand?

No. Using a VPN in Thailand is legal — individuals and organisations use VPNs for privacy and security as a matter of course. A VPN does not, however, make already-illegal activity legal: you remain responsible for what you do over the connection.

Which protocols does TukTukVPN use, and why those?

We run VLESS+Reality, Hysteria2, and WireGuard/AmneziaWG, switching automatically. Each is strong at something different: WireGuard is fast and battery-friendly, Hysteria2 holds up on lossy or high-latency networks, and VLESS+Reality plus AmneziaWG focus on obfuscation to get through DPI on heavily filtered networks.

Can I stream and game over the VPN?

Yes. The app has both a streaming mode and a gaming mode. Connecting through a server in the region you need helps you reach geo-locked content, subject to the destination service's terms. For gaming we prioritise stability and sensible routing. We don't publish self-measured ping numbers, because they depend on your real network.

What does “no-logs” actually mean?

It means we keep no records of your usage activity (sites visited, source IP, connection times) in any form traceable back to you. TukTukVPN holds this policy strictly. To be direct: it is our stance, and it has not yet been audited by a third party — we won't claim more than that.

How can I pay? Is PromptPay supported?

Yes — PromptPay is supported for users in Thailand. You can also pay by credit/debit card, TrueMoney Wallet, or cryptocurrency (via BTCPay).

Can I get a refund?

Yes. Paid plans come with a 30-day money-back guarantee — if it's not working out, request a refund within that window.

How does the free trial work?

The free trial runs 7 days with no card required: 50GB of data on 2 devices with every protocol included, so you can judge it yourself before picking a plan.

Will a VPN slow down my internet?

Encryption and routing through an intermediary server add some overhead, so a small speed reduction is possible. TukTukVPN automatically picks the fastest, most stable protocol for your network — and where an ISP throttles certain traffic, the VPN route can actually be smoother. We don't publish self-measured speed numbers.

How many devices can I use at once?

It depends on the plan — monthly supports 5 devices, while yearly and 2-year plans support 10. Every plan has unlimited bandwidth.

Ready to try it yourself?
